This is a place next to the temple in Madurai... Tirupurakundram whre childless couples offer offerings and tie thread on the tree with a view to get a boon of Child. What you see here is offerings and sacred threads tied on the tree with Shiva linga Idol next to tree... The temple is of Lord Shiva's son and Shivalinga depicts the father.. so its like asking for a replication of begetting a child from a father who has borne a great son like murugan for whom this temple is constructed.
This is a traditional place for childless couples to get a boon of great Child / son...
