Being born in a brahmin family full of devout spiritual gurus, I always thought that I knew spirituality. Then I read books by Paramhansa Yogananda, Vivekananda, and in my own family knew some simple Bhakti Yogis, Which made me realise my ignorance. I had started this journey unknowingly in Childhood with books like Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana, but now I am knowingly trying to find my self enroute to spirituality. There is a Rock cut temple here, built by the Pandyas in the 8th century. The temple is approached through a series of 17th and 18th century mandapas, at ascending levels, linked by stone steps. In the temple there are separate shrines dedicated to Shiva, Ganapathy, Durgai, Vishnu and other deities. At the entrance to the temple there are 48 pillars with artistic carvings.
